Now we all know that HCL has been in the tablet market for a very long time. They launched their first tablet by the name of ME. Taking it ahead HCL announced the launch of their ICS based tablets ME U1 and MyEdu tab. For people who are wondering what ICS is, it’s the latest version of Google Android OS that runs on a variety of tablets as well as smartfones. The basic price of HCL ICS based tablet starts from 7,999 which is considerably affordable when compared to other tablets but the point is what do we get when we pay Rs 7999.
The ME U1 tablet comes with 1GHz processor. a 7-inch capacitive display with a resolution of 800×480 pixels. The tablet has 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, a front facing camera, a full USB port, a mini USB port and a micro SD card slot.The device has a 3600 mAh battery and can also be connected to a 3G network via an USB modem. It comes preloaded with ME app store. The device also comes bundled with content from Hungama, Cleartrip & many other vendors.
HCL MyEdu tablet is almost same as ME U1 but comes with apps preloaded for educational purposes. This tablet costs Rs 11,499.
How the tablet will fare in the market is yet to be seen.
